The game came down to what I thought it would, calls and noncalls.

Whether there were two questionable calls down the stretch or not, Coach Tubbs needs to get off of his constant criticizing of the refs. How about worrying about coaching moves or the absence of some of his key players instead of blaming the loss on two calls?

By repeatedly calling out the refs after losses, he is not holding himself or his players responsible for the loss, and once the players catch on to that and realize they can just blame the refs too, then that generally leads to trouble. Reminds me of the Mavericks back when Cuban and Nellie devoted all their time to yelling at the refs and it clearly funneled down to the players on the court and the fans.

Worry about the things you can control instead of looking elsewhere to lay the blame and that will only help make this team a little better.

I was surprised Tubbs said something like this to the DMN. His comments to Rich Phillips after the game were more accurate; that is, games are decided by making plays vs. not making plays. SMU didn't make plays when they needed them. Roberts & Pearson. Bhop's 3. Rack pretty much any time he was within two feet of the ball.
