Did he do anything while at SMU?

Frankly, I don't remember his name.

In his first three seasons, South Alabama coach John Pelphrey struggled to attract the level of talent necessary to compete in the Sun Belt and entered this year with a 36-48 record--and the associated pressure to start winning. But transfers Chey Christie (Clemson) and Demetric Bennett (SMU) are helping the Jaguars establish themselves as conference contenders. Pelphrey has more transfers sitting out and establishing eligibility, including former Richmond PG Daon Merritt and former Oregon State SF Kenny Hooks.

Some Sketchy Info on Bennett

I remember a couple of things about him.

I believe it was an away game at San Diego State - Bhop had an injury or illness and did not play. Bennett, as a freshman, started in his place and
had his one night. I believe he scored 20 points and kept us in a game that we eventually lost be a couple of points.

I heard rumors that he was not very coachable, was lazy, and was not a good team player. He became more entrenched in Dement's doghouse with each passing week and finally the word came out that he was leaving and transferring. I lost track of him after that until this news item.

I saw him a few times when I lived in Georgia, where he went to high school. Like a lot of kids from smaller schools, he was a terrific offensive threat who did little, if anything, else but shoot the ball. Defense was completely foreign to him. He probably should have gone to a small non division 1 school out of college.
