More obnoxious DMN coverage

This may be coming a bit late but the headline:
Mustangs drop sixth straight game to Miners
Is really bugging me.

That is about the worst spin that could be placed on that game.

How about:
UTEP ends SMU's winning streak at three.
Undeated UTEP (in CUSA) slips past SMU.
etc.

I had the same thought. It is totally irrelevant that we have lost six straight to UTEP. What is relevant is that we lost a very close game to a top CUSA team that we could have easily won.

The DMN reporting that we have lost 6 straight times in a row to UTEP doesn't [deleted] me off at all-losing to UTEP 6 times in a row does.

I agree with all of the above - the bad headline; losing the game, and
even the story.

The previous games that we had won, including the overtime wins
got very small coverage. Two of those were even wire reports.
Why is that when we lose they seem to want to magnify the fact
that we lost again and put an even worse spin on it by bringing up
the 6 game losing record against UTEP.

That game could have gone either way. We led most of the game.
We are making progress but can't seem to get over the hump. But
one thing is sure - we will not get any help or even any objectivity
out of DMN. That is a puzzle also, since they spend advertising dollars
on SMU sports - DMN Swim meet; loudspeaker in Moody saying they
sponsor various events, etc.

Winning will cure even this although I wouldn't bet on it as long as the
current people are making editorial decisions at the News.

I'm with smupony94 - I don't always agree with you, but you nailed that one.

To be fair, however, they could have gone with a different headline. Doesn't matter now - water under the bridge.
