I can't wait to see this guy play. I was in town earlier this season, and he was in street clothes. You guys who have seen him sure make him sound impressive, though.

Southern Miss has a 6-10 Lithuania freshman Donatas Visockis who played quite a bit. His first attempt at a dunk was slammed back in his face by Bamba. The kid looked like a deer in the headlights after that.

From DMN: Fall has become such a fan favorite that SMU's marketing department has posted a banner that reads "Swat City" and tracks the number of blocks the team has this season -
Maybe the students can have fun with Bamba - I personally like yelling Bamba..haha.
Finally clever marketing - This is a good idea...sort of like the Barry Bonds Meter at PacBell Park...

Just did some digging. Fall is has 3 blocks per game. That would be good for about 11th in the nation. In conference he has 3.9 per game which would be good for about 4th in the nation. Thats pretty impressive for a Freshman, especially one our resident recruiting "expert" said would be a bust.

What made that block impressive was that Bamba was guarding another player, and therefore badly out of position to make the play .... but he got across the floor in time to go up OVER the outstretched shooting hand and block it from behind. Best block I've seen by an SMU player in a while. A LONG while. He's so good on defense that I almost don't even care if he scores -- he's sensational on the other end, considering he's just now learning to play.
