Wednesday's DMN says Morris is out with a knee injury for the rest of the regular season, and could return in time for the C-USA tournament.
The paper also says that Hopkins is four steals short of Gerald Lewis's career record -- go get it, Hop!
And Janielle Dodds is C-USA player of the Week -- congratulations!

He did not suit up for the S. Miss game and was limping around in street clothes.

I hated to see this in the paper, but from a team perspective regarding this season, I see it as not that big of a deal. The biggest loss is the 7 games he won't get to play in to continue to develop for the seasons in the future.
I am fine with Rackauskas and Ike splitting time in that spot and going smaller with just Bamba when the situation calls for it. Rack does not have the offensive potential that Brian has, but he has been rebounding very tough the last few games. I kind of like the way we look when we can have a 6'11'' guy take the place of a 7'1'' guy or even have them on the court at the same time. That is something we have not had in years.
Don't totally give up on Rackauskas, I have seen him improve over the course of the season and suddenly and unexpectedly, we have become a team with better than average size.
On a side note: Is Ritter totally gone or is there a chance he will be reinstated? Could use one more big body since Brian is out. I never really heard anything about this other than he was suspended indefinitely for violating team rules and the radio guys speculated it was only for one game, which was obviously not the case.

Well Ritter is still on the roster for whatever that is worth.

bagice, I agree whole heartedly with your comments about The Rack. I don't think many of us realize what a luxury it is to have a 6'11 big man come in OFF THE BENCH. He is by far our most aggresive and tenacious rebounder which is quite an improvement from his soft Euro hoops style he came to SMU with.
Morris is a much better low block player offensively but that is not Rack's specialty. Rack could be a very effective offensive player if he was utilized in the high post allowing him to take advantage of his vantage point for distributing the ball and soft outside touch.
I am dissapointed to see Morris go down, he has made great strides this season. His footwork on the block is pretty good and is a better scorer that advertised. I am most impressed with his conditioning since he has been on campus. It looks to me like he has lost at MINIMUM 20 pounds since the beggining of the season.

Any chance that Morris can get a redshirt year?

I would seriously doubt it. He has played a ton of minutes in every SMU game this year and the season is 2/3 over.
Best hope is that he can come back for the tournament and get a feel for that if SMU can win a game or two.

Donatas Rackasuaks stinks...he is horrible and shouldn't be on the floor at any time.

He is the only reason the game was even close in the end. I think he sucks to but he was probably our best player tonight.

I'm not a big fan of the Rack, but his free throws kept us in the game.

His free throw shooting was nearly our sole offense down the stretch in addition to a very nice 14-16 foot jumpshot with under a minute left right in front of the SMU bench. I do not see how anyone can say he sucks. If you expect him to dunk on people, dominate in the post and swat everyone's shot than your expectations are just wrong. He is hands down our best rebounder, and as a big man, that is his most important job. He is also a very good mid range shooter for an average height player, much less a 6'11 guy.
In spite of my endorsement of The Rack, I will venture to say that SMU will never ever win a game in which he is our leading scorer. This was just an ugly one tonight vs Tulsa.
