I am not one to complain, but the refs at the Tulsa game were a total joke.

There had to have been 20 TRAVELING calls, along with the biggest BS goaltending call in the history to NCAA basketball.


I am wearing white and black stripes to the next game.

I love Bamba Fall.

Mabee it was a Super Bowl hangover because I can't remember worse officiating, BUT, it is still a game we should not have lost. It was a horrible and embarrising game to lose at home.

SMU was a 9 point favorite, this was a bad loss.

I agree, they were awful. When they called the second (or was it the third?) carrying call against Tulsa's #5 with just a few minutes left, they showed that they were evenly incompentent, as Dez Willingham carried the ball more than the Tulsa guy did. Just as I don't think you make that call against the Tulsa guy at that stage of the game, they should have called it against Dez, if they were going to call it at all. They were terrible all night.

Must be a trend -- I thought the refs in the Southern Miss game were even worse.

The refs were awful but that was goal tending on Fall; you can't grab and shake the rim while the ball is on it. That was a freshman mistake by Fall. We might win games like this if BHOP could just play like a senior and cut down on the turnovers. He makes a good play then erases it with a stupid turnover

From my perspective the ball was already down through the basket and out when Fall touched the rim...

the refs were brokeback mt. - they could of called traveling on every possession- one fan yelled (where the ref could hear it) -You must have worked the super bowl!

The refs were VERY bad. I can't remember ever seeing that many walks, carrys, 3 seconds, and phantom pushes in the back. They seemed like refs from back in the 50s when the game was different. Worst I have seen in a long while.

The Fall goaltend call was a close one. It did seem like the ball was already through the hoop, in that case, it should have been a basket and they could have called a technical. Either way, it was bang bang and he shouldn't have done it.

The one that really got me at the end of the game was when that Tulsa guy went over and back about 4 times with no call. Now, I could be wrong here, he did pick up his dribble in the backcourt and established a pivot foot there. I would need a ref to tell me the rule here, maybe you can pivot back and forth and still be considered in the backcourt if your pivot foot is there. I sure thought that would be over and back though.

The clear worst call to me though is when Fall got fouled on an entry pass, where he never even had possesion of the ball when he got hacked. The ref under the basket called it a foul but that other idiot came running in from midcourt and called a travel. I do know you cant travel with the ball if you dont have possesion of it.

Of course, this is all moot because the calls were equally bad for both teams. Bottom line is we sucked tonight and can't beat anybody playing like that. Only bright spot was some clutch shooting and solid free throw work down the stretch and Rack had a good game.

I obviously didn't see the game, but that's pretty funny.

I've seen better officiating at YMCA basketball games.

Technically with a pivot foot in the backcourt he is still in the backcourt. You have to have both feet over to establish your self over. I didnt see the game but if he had a pivot foot in the backcourt then its not over and back.

Regardless of where his foot was, last time I checked you can't pick up your dribble pivot and then start dribbling again...which is what he did.

I agree that the refs were bad. However I am beginning to question Tubbs ability to coach x & o's. We have no half court offence. I watch alot of basketball and we have no idea how to set screens or move without the ball. If the other team has about a 6'4 guard that is as quick as Hoppkins, he is done. I don't see any way he makes it in the NBA, maybe in Europe. I do see alot of potential in Fall. I will say that we are playing better defense with Tubbs, but if we can't get a turnover and convert it into a fast break we are in trouble.

I that true even if he bounces the ball on both sides of the line? The argument I heard was that the Tulsa guy had established possession on the offensive end of the floor, but that an SMU player had tipped it loose, thereby allowing the Tulsa guy to get back over the line and re-gain possession.

Doesn't matter. As Coach Tubbs said after the game, SMU had chances and that play -- and the officiating -- shouldn't have been even a matter of debate after the game.

The Ponies had some open shots that they just didn't knock down. Did you see the shooting percentages? Tulsa shot 35.3 percent and WON. We shot 34.9 percent.

I think you have to have both feet and the ball over the line and then go back across the line.

I really can't remember what I saw.
