Why do you hope it's just a rumor? I figure a well-known Tubbs basher like you would hope it's true.

Jt, as far as being a Tubbs basher - that's your perception. I just call his coaching and recruiting performance as I see it - which to date is average at best - IMO.

Not exactly sure what you mean, but if SMU is seriously questioning tubbs already that is beyond absurd. Totally stupid. Its one thing for fans to make observations and express frustrations on here, its another for something along the lines of this rumor.

Average-at-best compared to what exactly? His predecessors? Tubbs got us all the good players we got under Dement with the exception of probably Stephen Woods. Without Tubbs, Dement got the likes of Ritter, Reay and Killen. Tubbs is doing fine early on getting Fall, Dez and Morris. Coaching, once again compared to what? Tubbs is doing fine. He cant put the ball in the basket for these guys. This notion that we should just draw up different plays that will somehow magically work is wishful thinking at best.

Sounds to me like he's referring to the infamous player-only meetings....

really? I can't see players only meetings evoking the description of 'uh-oh' from Friarwolf. In fact, a players only meeting is probably what is needed, but players meetings usually wouldnt be one on one or 'serious' per se.

Definition of "average at best compared to what" : In the latest RPI, we are #232 out of 334 teams and we just lost to the #254 school. Further, we have a losing record in the 15th ranked conference in America - our old conference is ranked 10th...................

A players-only meeting may be a real possibility. I have it on good information that a lot of the guys on the team don't really respect Tubbs - possibly just Dement loyalists.

last time I checked he has a 4 yr contract unless there is something serious we don't know about....

It does seem like they have tuned him out IMO....maybe it's a "what the hell is going on meeting?"
