Decisions. Decisions.
Should I link to the blog entry that links to the article or just link to the article? Why should I make somebody go the blog when they can save a step and go to the article directly? Because I am self involved, that's why.
Go to the blog- "Don't cost nothin'."

I think this thread should be removed, how classless of you to post a rumour that Tubbs might be let go.

I agree with Doyel, SMU basketball fans are hard to find nowadays. Should Tubbs be fired? I don't know. I want to give him a chance to recruit some more kids cause he has done a great job at that.

I AM GLAD TO SEE SMU GETTING NATIONAL MEDIA EXPOSURE!

Doyel has a reputation for being an idiot, and I would say the suggestion of firing a guy in his second year falls under the category of idiocy. Particularly when you admit the support is not here, and recognize the fact that he did not take over a team with the pieces in place to compete for championships even in CUSA for several years. What a joke.

Strongly agree with Hoop Fan. Tubbs has to have time to get the parts and put them together. His recruits hold promise. At this point, which freshman in conf usa has shown more and still has more upside than Fall? Morris was steadily improving before injury. Epps is finishing the season strong. SMU has positive buzz with future recruits and coaches.

This violates your self-imposed moratorium on blogging anything basketball, n'est pas? I'm very proud of the open mind you've shown as a blogger....

It isn't that I have a moratorium, it is that I don't care.

5. Trouble in Texas: Two of the state's worst programs, SMU and TCU, are thinking of firing their coaches. Jimmy Tubbs has been at SMU for just two seasons, but SMU soon will have a new athletics director, and SMU basketball is worse now than it was under Mike Dement -- and Dement was fired in 2004. At TCU, fourth-year coach Neil Dougherty has run the Horned Frogs into the ground at 5-23. Both schools have apathy and economic issues. Football controls their budgets, but neither football program makes enough money to buy out one basketball coach and hire another. And the basketball boosters at both schools just don't care anymore.
Reading the others stuff - HF, he does sound like an idiot. BUT, I wonder if we are still paying Dement?

Okay, call it whatever, but I remember once you said you'd blog about "Lost" before we'd ever see a basketball entry. Again, good job....

I think the deal with Dement is kind of like alimony...if she remarries, no more alimony...He's got another job, so...Then again, I could be wrong.
This posts raises another question...TCU and SMU cited as having problems with economics and apathy?? Whither the mighty Horned Frog "model" that has worked so well for them and not for us? I guess CBS didn't get that press release.

I would blog about Lost, but I have the psat two weeks tivo'd and need to catch up.
In the same conversation, I also said I think Wojcik would turn out to be a better hire than Tubbs and I said we would find out this when SMU played Tulsa this year.
