Paulius Ritter

Do not know if this has been previously covered but a DMN blurb stated that Paulius Ritter was dismissed from the team in December for disrepecting Tubbs while watching game tape. Said he was now trying out for football. I assume this opens up another scholarship.

That little blurb got passed over yesterday because everyone was too busy either bashing or defending Tubbs.

I do find the story to be pretty odd. I really can't imagine what you could say to a coach that would warrant being dismissed from the team. Suspended for a few games maybe, but not dismissed. Maybe Tubbs was pulling a Jimmy Johnson stunt and making an example out of an expendable player.

You may laugh when you hear this story, but this is the way it was told to me. The team is watching film after a game, and Paulus has his shoes off. His feet stink, so Coach Tubbs tells him to put his shoes on. Ritter ignores him. Coach Tubbs asks him again, twice more. Ritter still wont put on his shoes. After film, Ritter was so upset that Coach yelled at him, he decided not to go to practice. After practice, Coach told the equipment manager to clean out Ritters locker. The end.

This story is second hand, but that is the way it was told to me, by someone who was there. Not quite as ridiculous as the whole investigation story, but running a close second.

That's not the way I heard it. Similar circumstances, but I think the details are a little skewed. Perhaps it's somewhere between what you heard and what I heard. Either way, it's done, and he's now playing football.

Assuming XTC's version is accurate, I would sure love to be a fly on the wall if he ever pulls that crap on Bennett.

The DMN report was inaccurate. Ritter was suspended, not dismissed from the team. He was on the roster throughout the conference tournament, and remains a member of the roster. However, he is trying out for football.
