Boubacar Coly, a 6-foot-9 sophomore forward from Senegal, chose Xavier over the University of Miami, Mississippi, Richmond and Southern Methodist because at Xavier, the gym is the closest to the freshman dorms. “That’s a good spot,†Coly said in 2004. “At a lot of schools, the gym is far away. It’s hard to get to the gym.â€

If 200 yards is too far away, I'm glad we didn't get him.

Well I just thought the quote was somewhat humorous.

Well this just increased the cost to remodel Moody. I guess we will have to put the players dorms inside Moody.
Just send 'da money.

Don't worry. He will be ready to transfer after his freshman year. Note that he says the "freshman" dorms are close. The next year he will be looking for the proximity of the soph. dorms.

Or maybe he plans on being a freshman forever...or going to the NBA after his freshman year.

In the NBA you have to drive from your home to the game. Doubt he wants to do that.

It would be nice to have some players who have to "worry" about having the chance at the NBA!

Coly was a freshman in 2003. After a few years at prep schools (including Oak Hill, but he was never teammates with Bamba.) and a redshirt year at Xavier, I think he's now a 23 year old sophomore.
It actually came down to us and Xavier as his last choices. He went to Xavier because it was a better program, the quote about the dorms sounds like he was joking around.
Try not to choke on the Kool-Aid.
