Sampson is crooked as hell and has been for years. Now he's bailing out at OU right before it hits the fan.

I can't believe IU is taking him. Not really a big upgrade.

Wonder if Tubbs will be a candidate at OU.

My guess for Sampson's replacement would be Bob Hoffman, unless he follows Sampson to IU.

What has always struck me as strange about Sampson is it seems all the media-types love him. "Class guy..." "Great x's and o'x guy..." "One in a million"....etc. etc.

i agree with noonan...don't see the upgrade from davis to sampson. same kinda team, keeping opponents in games and not generating enough offense. hoosier fans will not be impressed next year

Maybe Oklahoma will hire Mike Davis and he can bring Arthur et al to the table.

thats a little surprising. And I dont think Mike Davis to OU is impossible, but seems unlikely. My guess is Turgeon from Wichita State or Altman from Creighton or someone like that. Gillespie would have made sense before he re-upped at A&M.

I'd bet Gillespie still would go to OU if an offer came. They'd find an alum to buy out his aggie deal, if they really want him.
I don't think it will be OU, but Gillespie will get a bigtime offer soon.

Of course there is always Nolan Richarson. He was well loved in Tulsa.

Gillespie pretty much said no thanks to IU. No way he'd say yes to OU.

Hey, were we going to get Sampson ourselves? No, but we had several candidates and I don't presume we selected the right one. The notion that Tubbs is the best we can do is flawed at best.

I know the practical thing to do is let Tubbs play his contract out. It doesn't mean I have to enjoy watching him do it.
