If that's true, I don't want a dime of Max Williams' money, then.

...you don't even want to wait to find out what the investigation discovered? Somethings at SMU never change.

I've always been perhaps the most staunch Copeland supporter around.

Suffice it to say that if this report is true, my support for him has been weakened immensely.

I dont have any more information other than they said that he has been fired and he has been involved in some minor NCAA violations. That is all that was reported.

I can't help but think that there is a ton more out there that we won't here for a while--especially regarding the OU situation.

I have not seen anything reported by the DMN on their site or on ESPN.com or any other reputable site. Until I see it in print in the DMN, I think it is just speculation.

lets think about this. Squeaky clean Miles Brand and Indiana just hired Kelvin Sampson. Yet we're gonna fire tubbs over something that may have been done systematically at OU under Sampson's watch? Anything tubbs did there was Sampsons responsibility and it must not be that bad if Indiana isnt worried about it.

If you guys don't think Orsini is the one calling the shots, you're crazy. Let's face it, Orsini wants his guy there and Tubbs isn't his guy. Copeland is simply the one carrying out the wishes of Turner and Orsini.

It's unfortunate. Tubbs was not the right hire to begin with, but he was not given a fair shot. It stinks.

I hope Orsini can attract a strong candidate and fast.

Orsini has a big job to clean up this mess, especially if he contributed to the decision for the purpose of 'having his guy'. If thats the case, the guy is crawling out on a major limb right away. He better have a way of smoothing this over or smu will be a pariah in South Dallas for the next 15 years.
