I will admit to being to being probably the second biggest supporter of Tubbs behind HF but I have to admit that I am not suprised or really even upset about this.
Sure, it sucks he only got 2 years to produce and that could weigh into the mind of a prospective coach, but I don't see it as a big deal.
I think without the investigation, Tubbs may have been able to turn things around, but after two miserable seasons and a new AD coming in, the timing is right. In my mind, all of this is just smoke and mirrors to justify the fact that Orsini wanted a new BB coach. He wants to make his own hire.
One thing to consider, this is a VERY bad time to fire the coach, right before signing day, perhaps it is possible that SMU has already struck a deal with someone to take his place? Maybe we will be floored with a name that no one expected and we can all get excited about? Probably not, but maybe

.
Good luck to Coach Tubbs, I hope this piddly investigation crap doesn't hinder him from getting another coaching job. He was a class act and really loved SMU, it just didn't work out.
Too bad Anderson left UAB, I just saw a newsflash that Mike Davis took the UAB job, so he is out of consideration.
