Norm talked about this for about one minute yesterday. Luckily it was the one minute I was in the car yesterday. Norm has what I would call a "working hypothesis." Maybe it is based on good info or maybe not. He said he didn't know for sure. But basically, there are sufficient allegations and lack of performance to justify not giving Tubbs an extension. The refusal to extend Tubbs would hang like a cloud over the program next year and he would be fired. Therefore, Copeland took the heat for Orsini who would have to fire him as soon as he got here and that would not be fair because Orsini "doesn't even know Tubbs."
I think Norm was confused and thought Tubbs was going into the last year of his deal, which he wasn't.
