He's a proven winner. And we could probably get him at a reduced rate after his, eh-hem, episode at Arkansas.
Baggage? So what? I'll take some baggage.....and some sweet media coverage ... and a conference title ... and an NCAA invite.
We need to make some waves with this hire.
Huh?

I suggested this a while back and it was dissmissed by most on this board as a feasible option but I think he is definitely worth a look.
Most think he would have zero interest in the job, I think he just might. He knows being in Dallas would be a recruiting gold mine. Anyone who has been as succesfull as Nolan has in his career posses a very strong ego he would love the opportunity to come into Dallas a turn around a program that others couldn't.
It wouldn't hurt to at least call. Im with ya on this one.

He still has a year on a BIG contract payout.

Nolan would never come here because we are not serious about basketball. Nolan is not looking to turn a program like SMU around; he's done with that sort of thing. SMU missed its chance to hire him 30 years ago when he was working his way through the JUCO ranks
