For all the nayayers re: Doherty's hiring, it made the local sports news on every channel here in Wilmington, NC. Same is true in Raleigh and Chapel Hill.
Think about this, SMU was a top story almost 2000 miles away. I was weraing an smu shirt while working out today and TWO people congrat'd me on the hire and said he would be a great coach here. That his problems at UNC were not on-court mistakes but basically making the wrong people mad and they think he's learned from all of it. This is a great hire for Orsini and SMU, and we are lucky to have him. Welcome to the hilltop, Doh!
