but to say all the things we want to hear. He sounded great in that press conference. He should, this is his fourth time.
I just hope he proves me wrong when he says.......
"I look at this as a destination job," Doherty said. "I didn't want to take a job to take another job."
The whole hire him because we will get press and he is a name is a loser's mentality. Set the bar low enough and you will never be upset.
I want SMU to win as much as anyone on here. I hope everyone on here can come back and thrash me for no thinking he is the guy. PLEASE DOH, prove me wrong.

Doesn't Dook have enough current problems to keep them from raining on another school's party.

I completely disagree with you. The loser mentality is not firing Dement earlier for his horrible record. A loser mentality is letting Copeland stick around and spread his mediocrity all over our revenue sports. For once I think SMU is showing some balls. They took it on the chin in firing Tubbs (regardless of your personal beliefs if it was the right move) and stepped up with the Orsini hire and now with Doherty. Just because you're a Duke fan don't trash the guy b/c he's a UNC alum. I don't believe that Doherty is the second coming, but I sure hope he is.

Actually DBB is a Mustang Club member/SMU graduate and is a rowdy football fan (ie banging on glass in the upper deck like we are at a hockey game).
He has alot of passion, something we sorely need.

I like,wait.....actually Love the fact that SMU has finally grown a pair. I didn't like the Tubbs hire in the first place and have wanted Copeland gone since he left VA. Mission accomplished.
If they wanted to bring in Amaker, Snyder or even Dawkins, I would be against that too. (I think the Capel hire was a good one)
It is not my disdain for the Tarholes that is not liking this hire. ONCE AGAIN. I hope I am completely wrong, because I hate being the only one in the stands!!!!
You are not getting my point.

Was sweet - everyone was sitting on their [deleted] talking to each other not watching the game.

Hey blueblood, go find us a lacrosse coach. Enough from you. Turn in your blue-devil colored glasses and pull your head out.

That wasn't supposed to be considered an encouraging comment.

I'm not denying your love for SMU DBB, but you came on here right away when Doherty's name was mentioned and you were slamming him. Chances are you'll get the last laugh, this is SMU after all, we could make Dean Smith or Coach K go .500.

Did and hope I am wrong.
Name one great SMU coach (modern era) that used us as a springboard to greatness(basketball only).

This is my first post here. I look forward to following your seasons and your success. I promise you here and now you will NEVER regret this hire. There were many small things that went wrong in Chapel Hill. If the same hire was repeated today Matt would be here for a long time.
Don't doubt that you are about see and feel a difference, a major improvement in your basketball program.
Come to Greenville and kick ECU's butt. I'll be there.[/i][/b]
