Grades are in, and for the most part, schools have done a good job this offseason hiring new basketball coaches. For the most part. The other part? Put it like this: Fans of Indiana, Oklahoma, North Carolina State and Washington State ... maybe you should read something more uplifting.
Like Pet Sematary.
Alphabetically, here they are. And if your favorite school made a hire but didn't make this list, get a new favorite school. One that matters...
SMU: I'm a Matt Doherty guy. Always have been, and unless he eggs my house, always will be. Grade: A.
UAB: When was the last time Alabama and Auburn lived in constant fear of losing recruits to UAB? Live it now, boys. Mike Davis is back home. Grade: A.
Indiana: Kelvin Sampson has always won, so what's my problem? He willfully and blatantly cheated at Oklahoma, got caught, and his reward was one of the five best jobs in America. You're better than this, Indiana. Or you were. Grade: D.
Oklahoma: Yes, this is the same AD who "found" football coach Bob Stoops. Lookit: Bob Stoop was clearly a rising star. Jeff Capel is clearly ... Jeff Capel.Grade: D.

I wonder who was doing that cheating.

Where was this reported? Please support with facts and not with your opinion. Thanks in advance.

lol...you're the one telling him to support with facts when you have no facts of your own to indicate that Tubbs was involved in the OU situation. Sounds a tad hypocritical, does it not? So please...support with facts and not with
your opinion.

credible hearsay. But thats more than you have supporting your assertions I guarantee it. Also, sometimes you have to be able to think for yourself. OUs reported violations happened over an extended period of time and clearly point back to Sampson and his program, not individual assistants. Despite that, Sampson was hired by Indiana, so what does that tell you? No one is very worried about what happened at OU anyway at this point.

The Tubbs infractions have been reported by every media outlet. I have not seen where he has been cleared of the OU infractions. Please show me.

I wonder why the Norman newspapers have not reported this information. Are you close with Jeff Capel or Castigilione?

Jim Copeland personally stated in reports linked to this webpage that Tubbs' dismissal at SMU did not involve any allegations concerning his tenure at OU.

Sounds like you are just stating your opinion.

I'm willing to bet that Castiglione and Pres. Boren are still pretty concerned about what's happening to the OU basketball program. Heck, what university president wouldn't love making a special trip to Colorado to meet with NCAA investigators?
It's obvious they brought Capel in because they know that sanctions are coming their way. No big name coach wanted to be associated with what OU is about to find itself in.
But then again, I live in the Tulsa area so I may not be getting front-line information. Who's your source in Norman?

You really think that IU would have hired Sampson without doing their homework? And, yea, i bet Boren is losing sleep at night worrying about what the ncaa is going to do to OU.

Gimme a break. And its quite a reach you are making about the reason they brought in Capel. You act like OU fired Sampson or something. Hardly, he left on his own accord for a better job. So please dont tell me we fired tubbs over something that IU ignored and actually hired Sampson in spite of. That would be truly absurd.
