SMU/DISD rift over?

Looks like the cold war between DISD coaches and SMU isn't as bad as originally feared, or at least it's being diminished rapidly by Coach Doherty. Remember that Roundtable lunch that Coach Doherty and Carlton Cooper went to? Apparently whatever they said worked. Elite News, the African-American newspaper whose editor was quoted in the story about the luncheon, hosts a golf tournament. In the course of one lunch (and presumably a slew of phone calls, etc.), Coach Doherty scored an invitation to the tournament and was being approached repeatedly for autographs.
Just my opinion, of course, but I would bet it's not long before Coach Doherty lands a significant DISD recruit. If not this year, since it's late, I'd bet on next year.

They could only hold a grudge so long. Truth of the matter is, he's a good coach and DISD knows it.

Agreed. Put his resume out there, and nobody can tell a kid that Coach Doherty isn't a qualified coach.

It sounds like he's definitely doing the right things - we'll see if that actually lands a recruit. I am sure they will still be po'd and hold a grudge for a long while at SMU for the botch job.

Who is "they"? Maybe we should pinpoint these individuals.

He meant specific people, dude. Not just the generic "DISD ADs/Coaches."
