Over the past few years, SMU has seen passion and determinaton for the athletic program from Shawn Heilbron. He has always done everything he can during his tenure on the athletic committe to help SMU make it's way back to athletic dominance.
As some of you know, Shawn has accepted an amazing positition to work at UCLA as a fundraising chair. This is a great opportunity for Shawn to follow his dream of one day becoming an athletic director.
I wish him and his family all the luck in the world and I'm excited to see where Shawn takes the Bruins!

Thank you Shawn for all you have done for SMU and please don't ever be a stranger.

BUT, if Doherty ever schedules a non-conference game in Los Angeles, you can rest assure I'll be there, front row, wearing my Mustang Maniacs shirt. Haha!!

You've been a terrific asset to the athletic department, and will be sorely missed. Congratulations -- you deserve everything coming to you.
