Just curious....

when exactly are those "major" NCAA rules violations going to be released to the public? It has been two months and seventeen days since Coach Tubbs was fired. We were told it was much more than burgers and soap.....where's the report?

Coach Doherty has been great so far in his short time at SMU. He is a salesman, and that's a big part of what we need, but that does not justify firing a guy after less than two years and spreading rumors that still haven't been proven almost three months later.

These are great questions. I guess we're still waiting onj the NCAA to announce them so SMU can be vindicated.

Which reminds me, I have submitted a question to Doherty via the online chat inquiring as to the status of the NCAA investigation. Let's see how candid he's willing to be. Or how candid his handlers will let him be, more likely.

Always felt he was let go (with contract buyout) more over the academic issues and some modest lack of institutional control issues, which can on occasion cause issues with NCAA. If there were serious NCAA violations he would have been fired w/out buyout. Doubt there were any serious violations but if they were/are you won't hear about them for many months. SMU would prepare formal report to give privately to NCAA with remedies/suggested penalties etc and then NCAA would investigate. So that is 6 months right there
