Heard that Coach Lutz recieved a verbal from Milby High star Devin McDonald. What is the word roundball?

Reply Re: Devin McDonald?
Agreed,
Devin McDonald looked like a completely different player in HS ball this year for Milby. He was extremely impressive everytime I saw them.

He's had some struggles (so have some others) in AAU ball. But part of that has to be attributed to the style of play, because I've seen none of those struggles when he's with Milby.

Report I just saw must be old -- says he's 6-0, 160.

not ranked in the Texas Top 110 on TexasHoops.com. The same resident Guru TexasRoundball on the above post had this to say about SMU's 2006 signee Cameron Spencer:

Honestly, Cameron Spencer has a long way to go to be a factor at all for SMU in CUSA.

He'll be overmatched in terms of quickness/athleticism and he's small to be playing 5(the only spot he can play). Has a ton of work to do to contribute offensively, we've seen him some big games on the glass. Spencer rarely played at all for an average Louisiana Select team last summer.

There were several better players availiable for SMU to pursue, but so far they haven't done so.

We like Spencer and we thought he was a fine prospect, but not SMU good. Other schools in the conference (and at that same level) snatched up top 25 caliber players in Texas. Spencer(who was only ranked by Texas Roundball) was among our top 125 in '06.

There were and in some cases are very talented fully qualified guys availiable, SMU chose not to pursue them.

One of them might be D'Walyn Roberts (sp?)

Medium interest in about 10 schools including SMU; offers from TTech and Baylor.

6'7 185.

Perhaps this will give Doherty a chance to work his magic. If things were still the way they've been, chances are the kid would sign with Baylor and we'd all wonder why. Hopefully the tide's changing.

Suddenly I feel short and fat.

Rivals says he has offers from Tech and Baylor. Also claims interest in Illinois, Oklahoma State, USC, Texas, Texas A&M (which reportedly has Billy Gillespie himself recruiting Roberts), Vanderbilt and Virginia.

.... averaged 15 points and 9 rebounds per game as a junior.

Reality Check: 2007 may still be awfully quick turnaround for Sam the Eagle, especially when everything on Tubbs comes out...
