Actually they are at Oaklawn in Hot Springs. You are on your own at Churchill Downs.

He may be spending some time at the tables but probably most of his time he'll be shuttling between numerous gyms watching all of the games. This is the super bowl week of summer basketball with Reebok, Adidas, and Nike all having their big NCAA sanctioned tournaments. All the studs are there playing in at least one if not several of the tournaments.......I bet Matt is at the 16U games.

courtesy The Pahrump Valley Times Newspaper:

The Main Event, one of several basketball tournaments being contested in Greater Las Vegas-area gymnasiums, drew coaches from almost every college and university in the nation, inlcuding this group watching the Main Event at Durango High School Sunday. Matt Doherty (blue shirt, red shorts) takes notes; he is the head coach at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, after working previously at Notre Dame, North Carolina and Florida Atlantic. The kid drinking the soda is not a coach; he is one of the ball boys. For instance, the Main Event was played at 13 high school, community and sports complex gyms; at the same time, the Big Time and adidas Super 64 tournaments were being contested at numerous other locations throughout the Las Vegas valley. Downtown, Team USA workouts were going on at the Cox Pavilion, under the supervision of Jerry Colangelo, managing director for USA basketball. A complete report on basketball in Las Vegas will be published in the Friday Times.

I noticed that he is wearing shorts in this picture. Are we sure that these are NCAA approved or is this another Violation :?:

Inquiring minds want to know!
