Southern California All-Stars 60, Houston Jr. Hardballers 51

"The Southern Cal All-Stars got a slow start, and the Houston Jr. Hardballers came out on fire to amass a 29-15 lead midway through the first half. But a couple of timely timeouts and some pointed words for Joedy Gardner put So Cal back on track, and they chipped away at the Houston lead and trailed by only 34-29 at the half.

The second half was close early, but a 14-6 run starting at the 12-minute mark put it away for the Southern Cal All-Stars as they built a 55-46 lead with just 2:26 left. Houston cut it back to six 57-51 before So Cal put it away by 60-51 in a hard-fought game.

So Cal featured a balanced attack led by Renardo Sidney with 14 points, 6-5 Daniel Hackett with 12 points, Taylor King, Kevin Love, and Brandon Jennings all with 11 points each. Hackett and Love tied for game honors on the glass with 10 boards each. Houston Jr. Hardballers' 6-8 Carlton Scott had 15 points and 6-0 combo Christopher Jones added 14 points in the loss."

"Houston Jr. Hardballers 54, Squires Richmond 52 (OT)
This one went to the wire as 7-2 James Tyler made a jump hook for the Squires-Richmond squad to send it into overtime tied at 52 apiece. The Houston Jr. Hardballers had the final possession in the overtime and got the ball to 6-8 Carlton Scott who was fouled going to the rim. He coolly stepped up with 1.5 seconds on the clock and dropped two free throws to win it for the squad from Houston, 54-52, over Squires Richmond.

The Houston Jr. Hardballers were led by 6-9 junior power forward Steve Tchieugang who finished with 17 points and 6 boards. Carlton Scott finished with 15 points including 4-4 from the foul line. Christopher Jones added 10 points in the win. Squires top scorer was 5-7 George Johnson who had 14 points while big man James Tyler finished with 10 points in this heartbreaking loss."
