California Big man is getting late interest...
By Van Coleman [email protected]

6-11 Josh Crawford was all set to head to prep school this fall, but he has been getting some late interest...

One of the second half of July's surprise performers, 6-11 215-pound Josh Crawford was set to enroll at the new 7-West Academy in Los Angeles. Crawford is an NCAA qualifier who really blew up in the second half of July, and was a recent Top 30 All-Star at the Fullcourt Press All-West Camp. He has developed lots of interest according to camp director Dinos Trigonis.

"This agile big man planned on attending prep school," Trigonis told Hoopmasters. "But his impressive play in July and here at camp has created a lot of interest in him."

"He has Iowa, SMU (visiting this week), San Diego, Pepperdine, and Long Beach State talking about him joining them this fall."

If he isn't sure about which school he will attend, he can fall back on his decision and enroll at 7-West Academy. We'll follow his decision-making process this month, right here at Hoopmasters.com.

Sounds like he'll need some weight room training. But if he's got talent we sure could use some.

Wonder if he's one of those tall, skinny kids who can play on the perimeter?

I assume Doh must want him if he is visiting this week. Hope he leaves here enrolled in school and with a signed letter of intent.

Sounds impressive...

Bottomline is we need the size, especially for the first semester part of the season without Fall and who knows worst scenario says that Fall has to sit out the second semester too, but with Doherty holding the reigns I highly doubt that happens. He has talent it looks like being named in the top 30 and with all of the late interest he is receiving, I hope we get him, good news about his visit this week is I know all the freshman move in anytime before sunday so hopefully he gets to see some of the beauties joining the Mustang campus.

GO PONIES!!!

Not the same guy. The Josh Crawford mentioned in this article is a 6'4" freshman at a school in Kentucky. The guy we are recruiting is from California.

The Kentucky Crawford was the leading scorer on his high school team when he was still in 8th grade. He's already getting alot of recruiting attention, but he cant be the guy we're currently after, he's too young. He'll be in the class of 2009.

There are some major underclassmen on that list. I dont really recognize most of the seniors. I think Dominic Stewart is just a junior, that may be a typo.

Malcolm Thomas gave a verbal to Pepperdine.
