From the Dallas Morning News:

Fort Worth Dunbar senior LaShandra Hill, a 5-7 guard, said she has orally committed to play basketball for SMU. She helped Dunbar win a 4A state championship as a sophomore.

Hill, ranked No. 22 on the TexasHoops.com's Top 100, said she chose SMU over offers from Nebraska, TCU, Colorado and Houston.

Oral commitments are nonbinding. The first day a basketball player can sign is Nov. 8.

This appears to be a super commitment for Rhonda.

I'm told that this a big pickup for Rhonda and that she is a true point who can slash to the basket.

She will make Samuels, the 5-4 guard from Mesquite Horn, move to more of a shooting guard role in 07-08.

And get this:
The fact that we got her out of TCU's backyard is a great feat. It appears TCU's recruiting base has dropped, and they may start to fizzle in girls hoops.

Great pickup, Rhonda!
