Just an FYI, the new scoreboard with 4 video screens, player stats, etc. has been ordered for this season. Due to scheduling issues associated with the change and the associated electrical work, it won't actually be installed until the Christmas break -- just in time for conference season.

Do you want to keep it above your bed recording all your conquests?

The giant Lite Bright is gone? Or is that what they called it? You know...that toy in the 70's & 80's where you made pictures by sticking in little bulbs into a lighted wall. Have I gone insane?

I am so glad to hear that the new scoreboard has been ordered. I know of a lot of high school gyms with nicer scoreboards. I was wondering if they ever replaced the screens above the tunnels where players come out? i know they were covered with schedules last year.

Is there a specific brand or model we can look up to see what we are getting? I don't want to wait until December!

its about time. the one we have is only outdated by about 40 years. I'm sure Doherty laughed when he saw it. Loved the old "Home" and "Visitor" combo. Didnt even say SMU where it should have as the home team.

Excellent news. I've seen nicer church scoreboards. That thing was a complete embarrassment.

That old scoreboard was a joke and the sign of a total lack of commitment to basketball. Now maybe they can have appropriate signs announcing the next opponent. The ones last season in the corner were that of a junior high. They were designed to hide the fact that the two message boards have been inoperative for the last 15 years. Does anyone know if a new floor is in the works? The current floor is awful. It appears Orsini has a plan to upgrade Moody which is long overdue.

Great news!

However, I did have a certain fondness for the old scoreboard and will miss it. I have been going to Moody for 40 years and it has always been the one thing that remained unchanged....When they took away the mustang and put that crappy Dallas Hall logo on center court, I could look up to my old friend hanging there on the ceiling and think back to better times.

RIP Old Crappy Scoreboard, I for one, will miss you.

One thing I will say is they better not remove that mylar baloon that has been stuck up in the lights since the mid 70s, that would be too much to take.

Anybody got a photo of the original SMU Coliseum scoreboard... when it opened and before it took on the Moody name? Isn't the old Perkins Gym scoreboard still up?
