I have heard Nov. 8. Do we know if this is correct or if this has changed? And how much have we raised. I've heard 7, 8, 10 million. It seems we're just throwing out numbers.

That's the last date I heard.

Ha! He's obviously been in a deep funk since the announcement of the new practice facility, because he went from 50 posts a day to 0.

I’m sure he has changed his username, again.

That is great news. Let's get this thing built - I never thought it would actually happen.

Destruction

I haven't seen an official date to begin construction so I will accept your
data, but what is your source?

If you have been near Moody lately, you may have noticed that
they are tearing down the temporary Cinco Center just east of the
new Lifetime Sports Center. When that site is cleared - they will
construct the new tennis courts for the varsity tennis teams to play
on that location. When the tennis courts have been moved, they
are then free to start preparing the ground for the new basketball
practice facility. I wonder if it will have a name like the Miller Center
or what? Does anyone have information on a naming opportunity
for the building? Could it be Ford BB Center?

The source is a friend who attended the basketball tipoff dinner where the date was announced.

Did you grow up in the midwest or just go to school in the Big 10?

I grew up in Rockford Illinois but moved to Denver Co in my senior
year of high school.

I graduated from SMU in 1991 but my family is from Minnesota. My father went to The U and I have other friends and family members who went to Minnesota, Wisonsin and Illinois. Therein lies the assumed name and avatar.

i believe that the name of the new practice facility will be the Crum BasketBall Center - the outdoor tennis courts will be just North of the "Temporary Building" - the indoor courts will go where the TB is

No Temporary Building

The Cinco Center was the temp building; however, it is not there
anymore. Over the past week, crews have demolished the building.

The new tennis courts will go on the site that is being prepared.

GROUND BREAKING IS THIS WEEK!
Right?

New BB Center

The groundbreaking for the BB Center will be in December and construction started in January. The new BB Center will be built before the new tennis facility is built. I assume the tennis teams will play at a nearby country club until their new facility is complete.

When?

I haven't seen a date in print or on the campus construction website; however I believe Gray Hair is probably close to right on.

I traveled past the east side of Moody this morning - the tennis courts are still there. They won't start construction on the new bb facility until they
remove the tennis courts.

The place where the tennis courts will be rebuilt still contains a great deal of rubble and so Gray Hair is probably right about playing at a local country club during the upcoming season.
