I would have thunk it. I have posted before that all he needs is confidence and playing time.

Coach has been building him up and I think that is a typically smart move on Doh's part. This first game should reinforce the confidence and make him even better. At 6'8" and at his weight - he has great athletic ability. I think he just needed someone to believe in him and give him a chance. We need him badly and he will certainly get that chance this year.

Develop players and have confidence and believe in them. They also believe in Coach Doherty. Complete opposite of Tubbs. All he did was degrade players-especially Ike, Jon Killen, and Rackauskas. It is early but it is obvious that Coach Doherty has a plan and even though he didn't recruit any of these players (except Spencer) he has embraced them and he sees them as his own. That is the mark of a confident coach that knows what he is doing and one that understands building a program.
