...and not a single mention of it anywhere on any of tonight's newscasts. A new coach for SMU basketball who has an incredible resume and NOTHING! I mean, NOTHING mentioned on ANY newscasts! And the Mustangs WIN, too!

you know what? Normally I'd be upset as well, BUT seeing this is Saturday and A. there are 100 college football games to talk about and B. The SMU football team won one of the biggest games (arguably, work with me) in its history...It's not a big deal

100 college football games of which maybe 15 have local significance. Yeah, I really care about Yale v Harvard, etc.

I didn't see a single TV camera at the basketball game, but like mavsrage said, it was a college football day -- every available TV camera in the world (almost) was in Columbus, Ohio, for the non-Game of the Month/Year/Century.

The Ponies already are playing better than they did last year, and Coach Doherty is too good a coach and too charismatic to ignore. The TV wonks will make it to Moody.

Coach D. seemed a little disappointed in the announced crowd of 2,770 last night. The attendance might have been adversely affected by having the football game on the same day. However, that was about the announced, average attendance for last year so the administration may have some work to do getting butts, especially student BUTTS, in the stands again this year. One way would be to make it mandatory for all freshman (girls included) to attend games!

I guess the real question is do you want just people there or people who are passionate about the game and the team. Winning will take care of the crowd. Moody is an easy place to fill up.

Student section was better than anything else, and better than anytime than I saw last year. You want to make the crowd look better get rid of any assigned seating in the stadium, make them all general admission, first come first served for the court side seats.

That was a very good student turnout, especially for a Sat. nite game after the football game, and a small school team from Ohio opponent. I was surprised how many Dayton fans were there.

The answer for the blue seat folks is to get their boxes built so it won't matter if they are in attendance or not. I do like the idea of filling those seats up at half time if they are still empty.

Yes, seeing the folks filling up the fancy blue chairs would be nice. The students who were there were awesome. Especially the four sitting on the couch giving the refs a hard time.

If you were paying attention, those four 'couch potatoes' were ejected from Moody by the officials with about 5:00 remaining in the game. They were escorted out of Moody by a security guard.

If you're talking about exchanging your football ticket stub for a basketball general admission ticket, we participated in that last night. Traded in 5 with no difficulty. Great idea! Wish more football fans had participated to get more folks in Moody, though. :( Great game! Great opportunity to see Doherty coach his first SMU game, too!

I think he's talking about the ticket "upgrade" program they had, where people who weren't going to be there would leave their tickets and those who were going could exchange the tickets they had for the others

Those 4 kids should be given season passes to that sofa. They were great and the refs deserved every bit of sh*t those kids flicked at them. I think all 3 of those refs rode into town on the Dayton bus. I would love to see 2000 more kids just like those 4 behind both benches every game...........

The exchange progam needs to be re-implemented for this year for fans that want to sit in those empty seats for the entire game. However, I say again, if the owner's of those seats don't show up by halftime, let folks that have something on that says SMU sit in those seats for the second half......
