Bamba Fall

Postby PonyPride » Wed Dec 20, 2006 12:17 pm

Check out the new photo gallery on the Rogers Healy Photo of the Day Gallery.

The fifth (I think) picture shows Bamba Fall doing his new jump hook, while it's true that the prairie view guy is short, the absurd amount of separation shows just how unstoppable that shot will be if he can iron out some of the mechanical kinks. With his shot blocking skill, that jump hook might make him some real money one day.

Have there been ANY big men aside from Kareem who rely on that jump hook? Olajuwon had his Dream Shake, Robinson could do a little of everything, Shaq is a runaway train, but nobody does that jump hook. If Bamba could perfect it, how would anyone defend it? Today's players have never seen it except for on ESPN Classic.

Kareem had a "skyhook", and he was the only one who used it with great success. There are number of other players past and present who have used and still use the "jump" hook effectively. Skyhook and jump hook are two different things

SMU's greatest player, Jim Krebs, had a famous hook shot.

I was gonna say..I watched Jim Krebs many times shoot the "hook" with great success..not even Wilt Chamberlain could block it. A thing of beauty!

My dad told me about seeing Krebs play. I would have loved to have seen him.
