Was in Moody this morning and the new scoreboard was sitting in the middle of the floor and the cables were attached to the ceiling. Looked like they were checking all of the electrical stuff before hoisting. It is HUGE!
Also noticed as I was driving down Dublin that bulldozers were hard at work on the south end of University Gardens.

If you were at the TCU game, how does it compare to their scoreboard?

Looked like it had replay potential but please don't hold me to that because I could be wrong.
I was at the TCU game and it looked bigger then the one at Daniel Meyer but again -- ours was on the floor so it is hard to compare.
I will say this -- it is very impressive looking.

Anybody know what's happening to the old scoreboard? Would be cool to have a piece of it.

Donate it to some school that by coincidence has a highly rated prospect.

Saw your post on Ponyfans about the new scoreboard. I went by Moody around 1 p. m. today and they raised the scoreboard from the floor to the ceiling to test the height. First they attached a tape measure on the bottom and raised it 25 ft. They still had more room and raised it another 3 or 4 ft. So, the bottom of the board will be at least 25 ft. above the floor and probably 27 to 29 ft. off the floor. It does have a video board on all 4 sides and room on each side of the video boards to show all the players points and fouls for both teams. A message board rings the bottom for advertising and information. Also, they replaced the two existing scoreboards above the floor exits and there will be new shot clocks above the baskets.

The old scoreboard, goes back to the company that put in the new one.

Interesting. Wonder what they'll do with it? Canibalize it for parts...? Sell it for scrap?

Can the next person that checks out the scoreboard post some pictures?

Sorry, I would have done so with my new Christmas present. It's pretty massive, looks like a newer version of the TCU scoreboard. A Dateck? video screen on all 4 sides, fouls/scores listed for each player. I can't tell from perspective but looks like a smaller version of the Mavs scoreboard.
It was currently still on the floor about 45 minutes ago. Huge pulley system on the steel beams.
