I guess he should know about taking the easy way out, seeing as he and the boys quit on Dement in 2003-2004.
So, in a roundabout way, we should thank those Mustangs. If they don't quit on Dement, he doesn't get fired when he did. Then we wouldn't have endured the Tubbs debacle as it was and we wouldn't have Doherty now.

While I would say as a whole that team did give up, but Castro is the last person I would lump into that group. The guy busted his butt every night on the floor for the Mustangs in his career. If you ask Dement or Tubbs they would both tell you how much they would love to have Eric's effort from every player on the floor.

regis, you have got to be kidding. Maybe Castro couldn't run like Hop or jump like Isham, but the man never EVER quit. Whether we were winning or losing, that is one player who I distinctly remember busting his tail from start to finish.
Great column, Eric, as always. Hope some of the players read this and take your ideas to heart.

Absolutely. Castro was one of the few who played hard that night, as he did every night. As I recall, the guy who busted his tail more than any other that night was none other than Chris Reay.
