How's this for a good omen?

Of the 42 freshmen who were counted in Conference USA's women's basketball statistics, FOUR of the top NINE scorers play for SMU, led by Delisha Wills (No. 2 among conference freshmen).

Four of the top 9? That can't be right, is it?
Have we EVER had such a strong group of talent in a freshman class before?
If those numbers are right, that's ridiculously impressive.
Go Mustangs!

It would look a heckuva lot better if SMU had a championship-caliber coach. Until that happens, expect our traditional mediocrity. Ho-hum.

Peruna wrote:You're kidding, right? Rhonda inherited a program that was in shambles, built it into a winner despite zero resources, getting practice time when the men didn't want the floor, won a WAC tournament with a team that was far from the most talented in the conference and is more than 100 games over .500 as a head coach. She's a great coach, and we're lucky to have her. The talent she has now is the best we've had in years, and from what I've read, the kids who are committed to join are even better. What she's been able to do here is extraordinary.

I couldn't agree more. I hope the guy was kidding. She is one of the few good things that we have had around here for a while.

It would be even better if SMU had championship-caliber fans.
