Celtics' Ainge watches Durant at Big 12 tourney

Today's DMN column mentions Ainge watching UT-OSU game with Durant's family. No questions raised about agents, though. Oh, no. After all, this is UT. And everybody likes UT.

Perhaps his agent is a "family member", like Vince's.

Man you need therapy for your constant Bevo-envy. Let me give you a hint. EVERY scout and coach in the country is scouting Durant-he could be the No. 1 pick in the Draft. Is it against NCAA rules to have great players these days?

How the hell does a scout watching Durant equal him having an agent?

Man, I hope we never have NBA scouts at our games.

No, ponyfan, just being funny. Remember that sense of humor we talked about? Besides, you'd never hear me say you can't have a good college basketball team unless you have NBA prospects on it. Especially in the watered down CUSA. Hell we almost beat the only post season time in the regular conference season with Jon Killen running the point, and nobody confuses him with an NBA prospect.

Disrespecting your team isn't funny. Simple as that.

Some people think if your not leading the cheers it's a sign of disrespect. I can't help those people. Stay tuned for more dry humor.

Really? I thought he said that SMU is not in danger of having any players that NBA scouts might have interest in. Perhaps I misunderstood.

Yeah, I guess that was totally disrespectful in sunshine-land. Sorry to offend your sunny disposition.

I also said by way of attempting to pacify you that SMU doesn't need any NBA prospects to have a good team, but apparently you chose to ignore that since it does nothing to further your anti-"basher" agenda.

So, who do you use, big guy?

Celtics will likely get first pick at Durant. Don't tell me business isn't getting done.

This is one of the dumbest statements I've ever heard. First, the Celtics only have about a 17% chance at the 1st pick, which hasn't been decided. Second, they will have MONTHS to negotiate with him before the draft. And MONTHS after the draft if they pick him.

Why would business need to be done? What business would this be? I've never once heard of a team negotiating with a player before the season is over. Before they even know what pick they have.

He was there to see him play. That's what GM's and scouts do. Get over it.
