This according to USAToday, March 28, 2007

Players who scored the most points in a Final Four game in NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament:

58 points - Bill Bradley, Princeton (1995 vs. Wichita State)

48 points - Hal Lear, Temple (1956 vs. Southern Methodist)

44 points - Bill Walton, UCLA (1973 vs. Memphis)

Is 51 years too long for another shot? Coach Doh, we look forward to our return.

I think Bradley got his in 1965 not 1995. By 1995 he had retired from Congress. I don't think anyone will set any finals scoring records this year. All the teams have pretty good balance in scoring. All play solid team basketball. That's why they've made it this far. I guess Larry Bird did not score that much in the finals since they had to play Michigan State and Magic. So it is kind of surprising.
