I was watching the Mariners-Rangers game on FSN tonight and the guy who does the "fan in the stands" interviews just interviewed Jay and his wife. They did mention Jay is the 7th leading scorer in SMU history.
Jay said he is now the assistant commissioner of the Lone Star Conferernce (I think I heard that right).

I was just talking about this with a friend of mine. I had no idea that he is married to FSN anchor and of course, SMU alum Dana Larson.
Friend told me that they've been married for a long time like 7-8 years?

Wow! Thats like 49-56 in dog years. Awful sad commentary on marriage if 7-8 years is considered long.

Depends on who you are married to.

I can confirm he works for the Lone Star conference.

Dana Larson scares me...she always looks angry. Emily Jones is hot though.

You're nuts. Emily looks nice, but she's not in Dana's league, and not just because Dana is a proud PonyFan.

Greg - Welcome to the board!
Great to see a link to the last NCAA tourney team on PonyFans.
Had you played against the WAC (as opposed to SWC competition), I am pretty sure that you would be a few notches higher on the scoring list.
Where is Schumate these days?

Isn't he an assistant in the NBA somewhere? Last I heard, he was in Toronto, but that was before Sam Mitchell took over as head coach. I would have to assume Mitchell brought in his own staff.

Hey sorry this response is late! Just saw your response.
Last I heard Shumate was an advanced scout for the Suns. His wife's family is from down there.
He did have one season as the head coach of the Phoenix Mercury WNBA team.
I prefer the SWC to the WAC or Conference USA. I miss those natural geographical rivalries!
