Tip-Off Dinner

A few notes for those that didn't go:
A tour of the Crum center was given. The floors should be down in the practice areas soon. These areas were the closest to being done; the rest looks like a good ways off. The tunnel from Moody to where the locker rooms are is seamless and will make for a nice transition from practice to gameday.
Coach Doh said he'd make no apologies for the schedule; it's a young team and he wants them to get confidence & some W's. He said he's more excited this year vs. last year. Said he has a goal of 4500 people in attendance for each game. Both he and Orsini mentioned that attendance was a major part of their vision for the program. Doh said he's been at football games and thought "all we need is half that" in Moody. Don't read anything into it, but if at some point we lose Doh, I'd think it would be because of the perpetual attendance of <2000. Conversely, I think it's a simple solution keeping him: lots of people at Moody and create a good atmosphere.
The event was well attended-I didn't see any empty seats. Presentation was good; they lowered the Big Bertha scoreboard all the way down to near the floor, and it served as a backdrop to the podium.
The new playing surface looks fantastic...'true life' color looks much better than the pictures we've seen.
When touring the practice facility, a coach said a recruit was touring it last week and was "blown away," and the coach thinks the recruit "should be coming here."
Doh designed the practice facilities/team lounges at FAU, ND, and UNC, and when Crum is done it will be gigger than all three.
I believe ESPN analyst Fran Fraschilla was in attendance as well.
