Very interesting...

Really nice of Bobby to talk to the SMU players for Doherty...I am sure that was a great experience to have a private pep talk from a coaching legend.

thats pretty cool. The only thing that is negative to me is the "little brother" connotation. I know we are a young team, and we are not in the Big 12, but seems like a pat on the head.

When you have that General speaking to you, that's a great thing.

The best coach in America.

Any opportunity to play a Bobby Knight bb team is a good one. We need all the help that we can get to mold these freshmen as into winners as quickly as possible. Sooner than later would be nice.

I wonder when he spoke to our guys if he did it with a profanity laced tirade like he does with his players?

Technically great - but as for the whole package he is not even close to the best in the business. He is a egotistical jerk - why everyone forgives that just becasue he has won a few games in his life is beyond me.

All I'm saying is, setting aside his flaws, I'm sure he could have some words of wisdom regarding the sport of basketball. And, furthermore, I'm not taking up for him what he did was wrong.

Well, then his team shouldn't have lost to Purdue! He's a great coach, just a little misunderstood. His true genius won't be recognized in this lifetime.

But the clip is pretty funny....

Did they, or he, edit the blog? There is no mention of losing the sessions.....

Wow,

There has been a ninja edit to the blog......before it specifically mentioned that Doh's assistant kept an unofficial score and that SMU lost all three sessions.....

Wonder why that was taken out? Does it violate some rule to keep score of a scrimmage?

Yes. Score isnt supposed to be kept, closed to the public, no advertisment, etc. I can give you the specific rule, if you want to see it.

NCAA violation? Last time those allegations surfaced, the coach was fired! Is Doherty's job in jeopardy??
