Overall I was impressed with the turnout for the bball game, given the day everyone had. The band was in great form, as usual. Where then were the cheerleaders? Opening night and no cheerleaders? Not even a couple token?

They were at the women's game last night. I guess two games in one day was just too much for them.

Daughter's past roommate was a cheerleader at LSU through last year. They have gold and purple squads...half & half, so that not all of them go to all of the games.
Blue squad and red squad would be nice. Even my four year old wanted to know where the "girls with the pom poms" were.

Between the pom squad, the cheerleaders and the dance team, you would think somebody could have been at the game tonight. No problem for the band!

I got handed some pom-poms before the game. I also cheered. Does that count at all?

I was impressed with the 'spirit' of those that were there.

They would have to care to show up. And they don't.

our cheerleaders suck this year. they did not want to cheer after being up all day cheering on the Blvd and football game. it must be tough having fun and yelling all day

Oh come on, it's understandable. They took the Friday night game (we had Pigskin), we took the Saturday night game.

So does that mean we will have no band and no cheerleaders at today"s game? This all seems very mismanaged. As someone said before, you would think SMU would divide up the groups to cover multiple events on the same weekend.

We'll be there. The cheer will too, if I understand correctly.

Well the band and the cheer showed up but where were the fans? Small student section and ever smaller fan attendance. When I got there about 4:20, the arena was nearly empty except for the band and cheer. I guess I am beating a dead horse but I just do not understand. Don't flame me with the usual excuses i.e. cowboys, sunday afternoon, bad team playing against a low tier Div I team, etc. It just doesn"t wash if you really support our athletic teams. The boys need us to be there!! Pony Up!
