Dez Willingham had 9 points and 2 assists in 24 minutes of play, in UNT's upset of Oklahoma State tonight, going head to head with OSU's Byron Eaton. Eaton also had 9 points.

Dez started UNT's exhibition game, but was injured and did not play in their season opener. Tonight he came off the bench and was the 3rd highest scorer for the Eagles.

I wanted to post this in the thread where we debated whether UNT would be successful again this year, but I couldnt find it. Perhaps it's been deleted. Still, Dez had a pretty decent performance for a guy who wouldnt have gotten any playing time if he had stayed at SMU.

Never understood why he was on the bench so much last year.

The shocking thing about Okla. State and Tech is that they played these games on the road.

Very strange because those would be opponents you have coming to your place, espcially Sam Houston St.

The Sam Houston deal was a trade with Tech, Sam Houston plays two games on the road at Tech for one home game against them. I think that's the same deal that Texas State made with you guys, you played us at home in 2005 and we have two games at your place during the upcoming Holiday Classic.
The Southland teams should be pretty decent this year and shouldn't be overlooked by any opponent.
