The SMU women's basketball team has won eight straight games.
Only Marist (10), Georgia (9), Arkansas (9), and Auburn (9) have won more consecutive games than the Ponies. Oklahoma State and Dayton are tied with SMU with eight straight wins to date.

Any chance they pop into the top 25 soon? Not even registering in the "others receiving votes" category. I thought we had some decent wins: Kansas, TCU, SFA and only lost to #11 A$M.
Are the rest of our opponents just that pathetic? Maybe a win over Tech in a few weeks gets them the big win they must have for consideration?

Kansas is the only team we've beaten in the top 100 of RPI. Even though they are in the top 10, they are not ranked in either poll, so that doesn't get us much recognition. If we win out (or at least win through Tech) on this road swing, you might see us start to get votes after New Year's.

At this point, the RPI rating means virtually nothing. When they came to Dallas for the SMU tournament, Kansas was rated No. 1 in the entire country in the RPI. That same week, South Dakota State (or maybe it was North Dakota State) was ranked fourth. IN THE COUNTRY.
If the Ponies win out through the five-game road stretch  which includes a trip to Lubbock to face a Texas Tech team that remains hacked off over its loss to the Muystangs last year  then it's quite possible the pollsters will be unable to ignore the Ponies any longer.

Anyone who hears the ridiculous slobbering commercials on ESPN radio would think that beating TCU is akin to knocking off Tennessee. Einstein/Estridge refers to the toads as "a powerhouse" and we took their best shot and sent them home. Then we beat UTA Saturday by TWICE the margin OK, almost twice  31 for us, compared to 16) Texas beat them by. The sophomores came up huge Saturday. Wills had 16, Samuels hit 3s all day, and Gillam took some folks to school.
Open some eyes in NYC next week, Ponies! See you at Moody in January.

Couple of road wins on the east coast can't hurt, huh?
Go Mustangs!

If they can steal that one in Lubbock, that would get more people's attention across the women's college basketball world. Tech isn't what it was but it's name still resonates. I know we beat them at home last year. But doing it on the road would be special.
Good luck and go 5-0.

Third-longest win streak in the country? There are some legit teams in that streak, too  Frog High, Kansas, etc.  keep it going, Mustangs!

Did anyone else see that Texas Tech women's BB just beat #18 Arizona St? Tech did lose to Houston earlier this month....

Didn't see that, but it will just help our RPI when we go out to Lubbock and kick them around on their own floor!
