Game Announcer

I heard the new announcer tonight for the first time. To me the guy's OK and everything, and I'm sure he will improve some in time, but where's the upgrade? I sure didn't see it - I mean, hear it. In my opinion, I thought Dan Bell was a bit better and could be heard more clearly.

They need to crank him up for sure. Whan the crowd is making any noise at all, you can't even hear him. TURN IT UP!

Not sure it is the volume as much as clarity. I think those are the same speakers they have been using since they opened the building.

I noticed the new guy left so fast after the game was over. He was out almost as quickly as the refs.

We didn't get the game scoring summary. I love the game scoring summary!

Perhaps you can tell the new guy all the things that you disliked about all of the previous p.a. guys including the pro sports pa guys.
Usually these guys make it look so easy and its not like if they make a mistake they can re do it without people noticing it.
I think the pa system in the arena is horrible. When the band plays you can't hear anything and Ford stadium isn't much better.
When I read things about announcers it reminds me that you can't be all things to all people and when you have a handful of folks that complain it must mean the rest of the people like it or don't even care.
The other guys for both mens and womens were fine, but there was no life there or they were so staccato I thought I was in an episode of Happy Days. At some point you have to hip things up and I applaud whoever makes those decisions.

The main problem with Moody as well as Ford are their inferior sound systems. Moody is just absolutely horrible. But what I can't figure out is why does the Athletic Department insist on hiring the screaming at the top of their lungs yuk monkeys that no one in the arena can even understand. Don't they even realize that before you can get the crowd pumped up, they have to hear what it is they're getting pumped up about? Anyone can scream and yell into a microphone, even my 8 yr. old, but you still couldn't undrstand what he's saying. Until the powers that be step up and put in a quality sound system it will continue to sound like what it sounds like now, an over-the-top midway carney yelling into a cheap Mr. Microphone.

For what it's worth, the scoring rundown was back tonight, and the guy sounded good. Don't know who he is, and don't care. The team is fun to watch, no matter who's announcing.

anybody know why a change was made mid season? I sure hope it was not a firing. The new guy is ok at best and Dan Bell is a class act. period.
