Westchester is a loaded team, (#1 junior recruit in the country, a sophomore that's already committed to USC, and a senior guard being heavily recruited by the west coast schools), so to say they are led by Dubois is a bit of a stretch. However, it's a good thing that he already practices and plays against a very high level of competition. Playing in the upper echelon now will only help him down the road.

Didn't DuBois pick up a couple Tournament MVPs earlier in the season?

Trying to find season stats for Weschester but failing at it thus far.

As a Junior, DuBois and his teamate Oscar Bellfield were both selected 2nd Team All City by the coaches and 1st Team All City by the sports writers for Las Angeles.

If he is playing anywhere near that level this season I would say it would not be much of a stretch to consider him as one of the players that is leading them to a successfull season, regardless of who else may be on the roster.

And as for Otis, playing for #29 ranked McClymonds, he is second on the team in scoring and steals while leading the team in rebounds and blocks.

Westchester won the Tournament of Champions at Ocean View High back in December. Some of the top ten recruits in the nation were there. Dubois was voted MVP of the tournament so I don't see much of a stretch here at all. He followed it up by being named MVP of the tournament they played in the following week.

Nice little write-up on ESPN about Dubois just a couple weeks ago. Written by a Cali high school hoops scout with 15 years experience. He is listed under "Standout Players".

Senior, Los Angeles/Westchester
Westchester is one of the more balanced teams I witnessed this season. However, a few of their "balanced parts" (Cordell Hadnot, Dwayne Polee and Oscar Bellfield) didn't particularly have strong games. Thus most of the pressure was laid upon Dubois -- and he delivered. His 3-point shooting touch and pull-ups brought the Comets back from a double digit deficit in the first half. In addition, he did a solid job (along with 5-9 junior Dominique O'Connor) of getting the Comets into their offense. Dubois, headed to SMU in the fall, needs to add strength if he's going to make a significant impact for the Mustangs next season.

Also, of the 5 players mentioned in Dubois write-up, Dubois is the highest rated prospect according to espn.com. 3 of the teamates have ratings lower than him and 1 is not in the system. One of those players rated lower than Dubois, Oscar Bellfield (whom like Dubois was All-City LA as a Jr.) is a UNLV commit.

While Grant HS is not ranked in the top 50 in the nation, I did want to point out that McCoy led his 6A team to a state title. Another recruit from this class leading a top notch team.
