Notes, Quotes
• With six regular-season games left, SMU will play two of its next three games on the road, where the Mustangs are 1-7 this season, 0-5 in C-USA games. The first of those will come on Feb. 20 at Southern Miss. SMU has not played Southern Miss this season but the Golden Eagles have won three of their last four games.

• SMU lost 75-74 to Marshall at home last week when Marshall's Mark Dorris hit a fadeaway 3-pointer with .07 seconds left on the clock, but that wasn't the worst part of the game. The most frustrating aspect was the way a smaller Marshall team whipped SMU on the boards 31-17, including 13 offensive rebounds.

• SMU didn't do much of anything right three days later in a 69-47 loss at Houston, getting outrebounded 38-33, committing 17 turnovers, shooting .347 from the floor and .167 from 3-point range while getting burned time and time again by Houston's 3-point shooting. The Cougars attempted 43 3-pointers and sank 18.

Quote To Note: "SMU played a terrific game. That is definitely a very good basketball team." -- Marshall coach Donnie Jones.

It comes down to Bain

For Southern Miss it comes down to Bain. We have 2 big men but both seem to be up and down I believe to injuries. When Bain plays well Southern Miss seems to win. For those of you who may actually make the trip to Hattiesburg enjoy your stay. It really is a nice town.
