Bob Knight on ESPN

OK, The General has been doing this on ESPN for about 3 weeks now. Wanted to know how many people have watched him and what they think of his analysis.

Personally, and I say this with all knowing I am a Knight fan, I think he got off to a very slow start the first week when the conference championships were going on. Was too generalized on teams and didn't talk about particular players.

And then I think the second week he looked more relaxed and comfortable during the first week of the NCAA tournament. He did better with the names. I thought one insight he gave about Clemson is that he thought they extended their press too far and it really hurt them. He thought they should pull it back a little. Bingo! And that's what cost them against Villanova.

Now, I thought he was ridiculous for picking Pittsburgh to win it all. And I disagreed with his thought about the PAC 10 being overrated.

He's not looking for schtick or from some angle like Digger, Dukie V or Steve Lavin. He is who is he is. ESPN will only put him with people he's comfortable with in Vitale and Phelps. But then again, that was probably worked out before he ever signed.

I really think this is a one-year deal. But overall -- better than what I anticipated.

Decent, other than his pick of PITT in the tourney.

I too, am a Bob Knight fan. In fact, I wrote a long letter to the SMU powers-that-be proposing that they hire Bob Knight, several years ago when he came available. But he ended up at a different Texas institution...
