There's a great photo of Paul McCoy with other Portland area standouts at www.oregonsports.com - download the magazine oregonsports Journal and head to pages 8-9. Other guys in front row are headed for Oregon, Vanderbilt. Shows off what a great person he is.
Oregon hates losing a recruit. You boys is lucky!

cfpenning, just curious what your relationship is with mccoy...we're really excited to have him be part of the basketball program. it's going to be a cool time to be at SMU with what will hopefully be the rapid ascent of both the football and basketball programs

Reading a little of that magazine, it looks like the publisher is Cliff Pfenning.

interesting that McCoy was rated as the #17 best football player in the NW by Scout. Significantly higher than WRs signed by Washington, Oregon and BYU.

This may have been posted previously and it was written before his SMU commitment, but I love the first sentence:
"We would be surprised if he doesn't end up high-major. His upside is tremendous due to his athleticism (can get to the rim at will) and blossoming point guard skills."
That makes me very optimistic. It has been a while since we've had a guy with the ability to create and get to the rim.
