What's the next step in the overhaul of Moody Coliseum? Is the Crum Center paid off? Did we come up short? Is there a surplus? There has been talk of new lighting, new sound, bustin' out the old offices and dressing rooms for wider concourses, replacement of the wooden bleachers, bigger scoreboard (just checking to see if you're paying attention). Anybody got the inside scoop?

I heard they were looking into upgraded lighting a while back. I'd settle for better sound.

Better lighting is more important.
From what I'm told (haven't been to Dallas in a couple of months to see firsthand), the basketball coaches already have moved out. I would think that's a precursor to knocking out a few walls  didn't someone say widening the concourses was a high priority?
I bet that's high on Steve-O's wish list. I've been to the arena at Central Florida  the arena that he helped design and raise funds for  and the concourse in that place feels like an airport terminal. Huge space, bright lights, restrooms and concessions every few feet, even enormous windows letting natural light into the concourse. Extremely impressive place. If Steve-O makes the interior at Moody look anything like that place, it will be a huge start toward a total facelift of the place.

I think the demolition of the old offices and subsequent widening of the concourse with new restrooms and concessions is our biggest need and will have the most impact, but it is also the most costly item on the list.
Once you touch any of it you lose the grandfather status and everything has to be in compliance with current city codes. Sure hope the big boys still have some mulah left over to make this happen.

As of a week ago, the women's coaches have moved out. The men's coaches have not.

Why would you update the restrooms?
Those urinals are classic -- you don't know if you should sit or stand.

If anyone has a picture of the Moody urinals, please try to get it up on www.urinal.net before they get replaced. I've never seen any others like it, and it would be shame not to record them for posterity on this site.

I would love to see the wooden blue seats painted. Obviously, all new seats would be great, but some new paint would extend their life for another 5 years...

I wouldn't mind seats that aren't made out of steel, either.

I'd settle for seats that are adult sized.

When they were first installed, they were adult sized. Thanks to super sizing our orders of fries, butt widths have increased over the years.

Just because most of you think of him as a big butt does not mean he has the answer.
