Surprised this isn't being discussed. Imagin what they would be saying if he ended up at SMU. I would have gladly taken the wins, but I am kind of glad we dodged this bullet.

Edit: Sorry, meant to put this in the B-Ball forum.

No biggie. We did not want him anyway.

And nothing will happen, my brothers. Just like Reggie Bush.
Arthur dodged a bullet too - by attending a school not spelled S-M-U.

Nothing will happen?-let's see, they[SOC] just recently had a state title taken away.

I don't think anything can happen to Kansas because they were working with the information SOC gave them -- unless something goofy came up there.
To me, this is more SOC's problem than KU's. How does James Mays keep his job, anyway?

This is a major SOC and DISD problem, not so much a KU one.
That being said, never underestimate the effect that a WFAA investigation can have on a collegiate sports program....

Especially with a Cornhusker lover named Hansen leading the charge.

Oh, my gosh - Hansen!
Can you imagine if Arthur HAD come to SMU?

What if he is deemed to have been inelligible for the NCAA? Would that affect KU?

They said if the allegations are proven true, KU "COULD be forced to forfeit all games in which Arthur played."
Will never happen, but the big, bad NCAA looks tough on crime by suggesting it COULD implement that penalty, huh?

I agree with that. It's going to be hard to pin anything on KU. NCAA is blowing smoke -- something it is very good at.

Lost in all of this is the irony of who lost to KU in the nat'l championship game. I'd be surprised if Calipari doesn't do all he can to hold the NCAA's feet to the fire if in fact Arthur is ineligible. Wasn't it Marcus Camby who voided UMass's trip to the Final Four?

No way. The Camby/UMass scenario alone would inspire snickers nationwide if he cried about it, but Calipari only squeals if he is absolutely 100 percent sure that he has zero skeletons in his Memphis closet.
Want to place any bets there? I bet Calipari doesn't.

That would be funny if Memphis got a National Championship by the back door. Alums come into the arena one day and there hangs a National Championship banner.
