The DMN will bring up that idea around New Year's Eve.

They seem pretty behind on all stories lately related to fball and bball.

I wish the best for Dubois in his search for a school where there is no competition.

Good. Leaves an extra scholarship for us. The e-mail from dad would lead you to believe that he was intimidated by the competition. Oh, and I don't think Lance Irvin was released. He went to SIU on his own accord -- from what I understand.
I'm just glad his dad misreprsented the facts and caved in to his whining son and whatever AAU henchmen were involved.

Nothing from JD himself? Sounds like JD's dad is the problem here.

way to teach your son about honoring his word/commitment... i know coaches lie, but that doesnt make it right... i have no problem with a player asking to be released once he has been on campus for a semester... sometimes things just don't work out... or sometimes family issues may arise to make it impossible, i also don't have a problem with that.... but this dad is sending the wrong message to his son

If Dubois is over 18, or was when he signed the LOI, isn't the LOI a contract, and isn't his dad tortiously interfering with the contract SMU has with lil' Dubois?

He is just a parent trying to do what he thinks is best for his child. Obviously, this is what Jarred wants. It has been said above that he is not honoring his comment to us just like we "said" we wouldn't be going after any other point guards. Yes, I think it is weak, but I am sure it will work out for the best. I wish him well if he goes elsewhere....although I wish him more well if he stays!

at this point, i think it'd do more harm than good to drag this kid to the hilltop. let the whiney kid go to a place with no competition
